Temecula, Riverside County
Old Town Temecula keeps the look of a western main street, with wooden sidewalks and false-front buildings along Front Street. The town was a stop on the Butterfield Overland Mail stage route in 1858 and later a shipping point for cattle and granite. Each year a balloon and wine festival sends hot air balloons up over nearby Lake Skinner at sunrise.
